What is the anime “My Hero Academia”?
The comic series has surpassed 100 million copies in worldwide circulation! My Hero Academia is an anime based on the hugely popular comic by Kohei Horikoshi, which was serialized for 10 years in “Weekly Shonen Jump” (published by Shueisha). The story takes place in a world where approximately 80% of the total population possesses some kind of superpower, or “Quirk.”
The story follows Izuku Midoriya, “Deku,” a high school student attending U.A. High School, and his classmates as they strive to become heroes—a profession dedicated to protecting people and society from accidents, disasters, and villains who misuse their unique abilities—as they grow, battle, and forge friendships!
Starting with the first season in April 2016, a total of 8 seasons and 170 episodes were broadcast by the FINAL SEASON in 2025, and 4 theatrical films were also released. It is currently available on various video streaming platforms!
